Regulatory Information

Who we are, how we're regulated, how we're paid, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Last updated: 27 July 2026

1. Who We Are

Transeuropa Insurance Brokers is an independent insurance intermediary. We arrange insurance on behalf of our clients across a panel of insurers rather than underwriting risk ourselves. When a policy is placed, the contract of insurance sits between you and the insurer, not with us.

2. Our Regulatory Status

We are authorised and regulated as an insurance intermediary under the financial services regulation applicable in the jurisdictions in which we operate. Our registration details appear on every policy schedule we issue, and we're happy to provide them on request.

3. How We're Paid

We're usually paid by commission from the insurer, already reflected in your premium. You don't pay this on top. Where we charge a separate broking fee for a particular service, we disclose the amount to you clearly before you commit to cover, so you always know the full cost upfront.

Comparing across our panel of insurers, rather than being tied to one, means our recommendation is driven by what suits your risk, not by which product pays the highest commission.

4. Client Money Handling

Premiums and any refunds you're owed are handled in accordance with the client money rules that apply to regulated insurance intermediaries in our jurisdiction, which set out how client funds must be segregated from our own business funds and protected in the event of financial difficulty.

5. Our Complaints Procedure

If something's gone wrong, here's what happens when you raise it with us:

  • Tell us. Contact your usual broker contact, or reach our team directly at hello@transeuropabrokers.com or +44 20 1234 5678.
  • We acknowledge it. We'll confirm receipt of your complaint and who's handling it.
  • We investigate. We'll look into what happened, including with the insurer where relevant, and keep you updated.
  • We respond in writing with our findings and, where appropriate, how we'll put things right.

6. Escalating a Complaint

If you're not satisfied with our final response, or we haven't resolved things within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to refer your complaint to an independent ombudsman or dispute resolution service free of charge. Our final response letter will always give you the name and contact details of the service that applies to your complaint.

7. Professional Indemnity Insurance

As a regulated broker, we hold our own professional indemnity insurance, covering claims arising from errors or omissions in the advice and services we provide. Details of our cover are available on request.

8. Contact & Further Information

For anything regulatory that isn't covered here, including requesting a copy of our terms of business, verifying our authorisation, or asking about our panel of insurers, contact us at hello@transeuropabrokers.com or +44 20 1234 5678. See also our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

9. Conflicts of Interest

We maintain a conflicts of interest policy to identify and manage situations where our interests, or those of one client, could conflict with the interests of another client. Where a conflict can't be reasonably managed, we'll disclose it to you clearly before proceeding, or decline to act.

10. Our Panel of Insurers

We place cover across a panel of insurers rather than being tied to a single provider, which lets us compare terms and pricing on your behalf. We review our panel regularly against financial strength, service standards, and claims performance. A summary of our panel is available on request.

11. Anti-Money Laundering & Financial Crime

As a regulated broker, we're required to carry out identity verification and due diligence checks on clients, particularly for higher-value commercial and trade finance business. We may ask for supporting documentation before placing certain policies or instruments, and are required to report suspected financial crime to the relevant authorities.
